Congratulations to the 2020/2021 graduates of the premiere of PASC and PAT’s joint initiative - a series of free acting workshops for 12 promising Asian actors.

Designed to prepare and upskill Pan-Asian actors for careers in the screen industry, the workshops, taught by experienced industry professionals, covered foundational acting skills, acting for screen, on-set practices and career development strategies among others. The twelve participants — whose backgrounds hail from Cambodia, China, India, Malaysia, Philippines and South Korea — are part of a cohort that seeks to represent the rich cultural diversity in Aotearoa on screens everywhere.

Introducing our actors:

Aman Bajaj, David Correos, Anna Lee, Nelson Lee, Ellie Lim, Jo Lo, Mustaq Missouri, Keeha Oh, Talia Pua, Winstan Saw, Hae Yeon Seol, and Kelvin Ta.

“An overwhelming number of applicants wrote deeply about the barriers to entry as an actor of Asian descent, but also the burning ambition to become role models in the industry for audiences and community alike. We are proud of our chosen participants courage, openness and tenacity through the 6 weeks and we’re excited to welcome them to the wider industry.” - Chye-Ling Huang

Thank you to our industry acting tutors:

Jennifer Ward-Leland, Cherie Moore, Sarah Wiseman, Jim McLarty, Matt Dwyer & Miriama McDowell, Sam Snedden, and thanks to Andi Crown Photography for our brand new headshots.
