Pride Pledge
We commit to all LGBTTQIA+ (rainbow) people having the freedom to be safe, included, healthy and visible and we will use our voice to actively support and celebrate rainbow communities.
Founding member of PAT Chye-Ling Huang is also on the board of Same Same But Different, Aotearoa’s only queer literary festival, who recently supported PAT to co-produce the double hander queer takeover at Basement in 2025 with the Rawdog Gaysian Playwright Challenge.

Solidarity with Palestine: end the genocide
Our work centres stories of migration, displacement, and belonging, which connect us deeply to the struggles of people forced from their homes again and again. Proudly Asian Theatre Company fiercely condemns the ongoing genocide in Gaza. We grieve the devastating loss of Palestinian lives, culture, and land, and we stand in solidarity with all who resist violence and displacement.
As a company, we have consistently opposed these atrocities and called for action in emails to government officials.
We are deeply disappointed that our government has failed to take meaningful steps in response, especially recently failing to recognise Palestine as a state.
We call on the New Zealand Government to take immediate and concrete action, including:
Imposing targeted sanctions on Israel
Ending all military and trade support that enables ongoing violence
Providing emergency visas for Palestinians seeking refuge and safety
Recognising Palestine as a state
It is Aotearoa’s responsibility to act on behalf of what’s right for humanity.
